What do you guys think the next GTS will do for power. Get it from a turbo or a NA type engine. My neighbor and I were discussing it. He thinks they won't build a new engine to get a little more power when the current one is pretty tapped out. Just put a turbo on it.
That sounds feasible until I pick up on some more ideas. Unless they can do a mod to the current motor for another 25 or so HP and leave it NA.

^^^^ This. It's the formula for the GTS. Assuming there will be a 991.2 GTS, it'll be powerkit and a bundling of options.
Other GT and RS cars are a different story.

They have, or they will shortly, cease (volume) production of the 9A1, there isn't a model that requires it anymore... at least in its N.A form

997 and 991.1 GTS drivetrain has been a powerkitted S at a package price better than an S with same options , so 991.2.GTS will be regular turbo powerkit engine avail even on the S
it is a cheap to market " options " engineered car, not a Motorsport engineered one like GTx models with bespoke chassis enforcments, different / adjustable suspension pieces , etc
the formula sells well, even outsells the S when both are available at the same time in the last 2 yrs of typical 4-5 yr cycle , so why change a profitable format from the standpoint of their development certification costs
