The interesting question is what motor will they use for the next GT4? I think it will have to be a detuned GT3, again don't see them keeping the 9A1 alive just for that model.
9A1, the GT3 motor is pretty much a 9A1 with different intake, internals and oiling

I bet the aftermarket tuners will easily make the S model go from 420hp to 500hp gaining 80hp just by turning up the boost and basic tuning but that just my guess.
to keep powerkit cars beneath other higher bhp models in the range

I had known for quite a while that my plan was to be in some variant of the 991 by spring, but just wanted to see what the 991.2 would officially look like. When it was released, I wasn't blown away, normally I am a "new is better" type guy but I feel like with the 911, they pretty much all stay classic and they're never really trendy cars. Perhaps it's justification for going for a 991.1, but I'm personally not a fan of central exhaust or the vertical engine cover, granted it may change over time.

Somehow I lucked into one of the final GTS spots so forgive me for saying that I do hope the 991.2 GTS is not released until the final year of the 991 and that it will have a turbo engine. Not that I'm buying this as any sort of investment hoping for it to hold better value bc it isn't turbo, but just thought it would be cool to own an iconic, childhood dream car which is the last of its kind.

And yes, this will be my first Porsche having never even sat in a 911 before, ever.

The "The new 911 Carrera 4 GTS" is listed again on Porsche website as 3.8 NA.

I think its a wise decision. If Porsche chooses to keep the N/A in the future 991.2. I would consider trading up but with all the EPA regulations manufacturers are facing. I don't see it happening. Think oil embargo of the 1970's. Sort of killed the muscle car era.

Sure hybrid tech will eventually take over and we have seen what Porsche can do with the 918. Ultimately thought I like the simplicity of the current 991 and it would be nice to own one of the last N/A's if true. Not looking at it from a monetary perspective but from a nostalgic view point.

The only things staying NA for 991.2 will be the Motorsports Division GT cars. I fear even those will be the last NA's even in the GT cars.

The 991.1 GTS will be the last NA. It's a keeper.

Does anyone know if the GTSs being added back to site mean they are going to open up more build slots? Has anyone recently been offered an allocation?

no, its an accident of the configurator website, the production line is switiching
to .2 base, S, 4, 4S, and targa production, only the RS will remain under production.

If you want one find a dealer with a remaining allocation, production will end
in Dec/Jan.

Brett @ Sonnen has a coupe allocation.
