Frst ride reviews in 2017 911 are in- positive
Once a sales manager said , Porsche rarely messes up updated cars and once u buy into Porsche , it is soo tough to go to another brand for a sports car in that 100-150K price range

While I fully expect that the reviews are going to be very positive on how this car drives, I agree that the articles from people sitting in the passenger seat while a Porsche factory driver circles the track don't mean much.
But, I'm fairly confident Porsche got this right and the cars are going to be awesome. Porsche sometimes gets the styling wrong, but rarely the driving experience.

I suspect that it will only be the track/DE/Autocross drivers that may be let down by the turbo characteristics. For the majority of 911 drivers, the torque and power improvements will be very much appreciated.

As much as I like Porsche I don't think everything they touch turns into gold. I thought the 996 wasn't up to their quality standards and also was very disappointed with the 1st gen boxster and Cayenne.
Being forced into putting tiny engines with turbos doesn't sit right with me, but I'll withhold judgement until I read reviews I trust or test the car myself.

So I would not expect anything to emerge until Dec/Jan...

The proof is the proverbial pudding and all will be revealed in good time with real world, daily driving experiences from actual owners.
It is far too early to laud or criticize these cars (other than what we see with their exterior styling).
These reviews really don't mean a lot (especially from the passengers seat), but customer reviews do.
Regardless of how great the reviews were for the 996, customers weren't exactly lining up to buy them.
I for one am cautiously optimistic, but certainly not blinded by the love of badge and brand.

I have a feeling the 991.2s are going to be great cars, their awkward appearance notwithstanding. But then I've never given a hoot what the exhaust sounds like, and my own idea of an "aspirational" car (no pun intended) is a 991TT... so I'm already favorably disposed towards turbocharged 911s.
I'm pretty sure the 981.2s are going to be a marketing disaster, though. You can't sell an expensive four-cylinder car in the US, and Porsche of all companies should know that. They're going to sell about 12 of them and then turn out the lights.

Since when is being forced by regulations into doing something a "revolution"?
Oh yeah, they are independent and objective. As long as the meaning of those terms is ….

In a couple years Porsche owners will probably be complaining about the all new EU compliant 911 Carrera E/ES model. And Porsche will respond with a exhaust Internal Sound System (****) in the stereo upgrade package ($5000). You'll have many choices:
- sleep mode
- school zone mode
- sitting in traffic mode
- dreaming F1 mode
- Harley mode
Of course some modes will require windows be in fully closed.
