Default What makes this car so good?

I know there are a lot of posts about the issues/problems people have had and arguments back and forth about options, but no matter how you configure it this is an amazing car.

I had a rough couple months and couldn't drive for a while and getting back behind the wheel really put a huge smile on my face in a way that no other car has. I'm just really appreciative that I get to drive such an amazing vehicle

Whether I'm just having a rough day or don't feel well, driving my car always perks me up. I drove a new Dodge Challenger Hellcat a few days ago and it was brutally powerful but nothing compares to the driving experience of a 911 for me. I wouldn't trade for anything. They are amazing automobiles.

Sorry to hear you have had a rough couple of months. I hope whatever it was is behind you now!

...and the happiness given you after a period of down time is offered as a "no cost option" by Porsche

Perfect driving position and Porsche DNA. When I get in my 991 and grip the wheel, it still reminds me of my 78 SC. There's a commonality that I don't think any other manufacturer has achieved over so many years.

Value...Are these cars cheap? NO, but the value is there.

Build quality, performance, style, reliability (for most people), design, street cred, heritage, and community.

I have owned BMW's and Audis, but there is a maturity and class with the majority of P-car folks, which you don't find as often in other car communities.

Part three of that is irrelevant to the car (and brand) and is sort of rude.

Not trying to be offensive or rude, and for clarification, I have made many friends and met great people when in other car groups, but from my experiences, the Porsche folks tended to be a lot more easy going.

Again, there are always exceptions, but in general, Porsches are more expensive therefore will have a crowd that's typically more mature as a whole which might explain my experiences.

The magic of "balance" , executed perfectly. It's just that simple. IMHO. Period.

Must be the region you are hanging out in! I don't find that to be necessarily true in the Wash DC area where the Potomac Chapter members seem to be less than friendly unless you are a regular. This has been over the past 20 years, too, its not just a one-off fluke. I find the Aston Martin and Audi clubs to be very laid back and more fun, and some parts of the BMW club in this area. I'm sure it would be different in another region as well.
