Traditional window tint only provides heat rejection when choosing to go a dark shade. Today's window film technologies have gone so far that this is no longer necessary. One can go with a nano-IR window film such as Spectra Photosync and it would still outperform a limo tint.

Spectra Photosync and Ceraluxe Quantum Ceramic are both nano products that are currently the highest heat rejecting films on the market. Both are made from the same company - Prestige Film Technologies. Here is a link to their site and the performance specs:

If you are not near us, contacting Prestige directly to see who is in your area (they are very selective in their dealer process, so you will only get the best installer in the area carrying it):

My dealer is offering me XPEL Prime XR for 399. I cant seem to find any reviews of this film. Has anyone here had any experience with it?

The reason for very little info on this product is because it is very new. You may want to look into the more proved and tested products.

Nicely done. That's the perfect amount of tint.

Overdo it and the car ends up looking cheap and "aftermarket". The discontinuity between the tinted glass and windshield is much more pronounced on coupes, so it's always best to be conservative, I think.

I had Formula One Pinnacle 35% installed today. I'll live with it a few weeks and report my impressions.

I also had formula one pinnacle ceramic done today in 30. It looks really good thus far and should only get better as it dries.

20% is perfect for me. I roll the windows down if I need to be seen, windows are up when I don't. Never had any trouble with the law with none of my cars at 20%.

Spectra PhotoSync 45 on mine, super impressed with it. Works harder when it's sunny, amazing visibility at night. Always had tint on my cars, this really is the perfect balance for me. If you can find a shop that is authorized to apply it go and take a look. Or all the youtube videos showing you the heat blocking tests.

3M Crystalline. 70 on windshield and 40 on all other glass. I've only had Suntek, Llumar, and similar on other cars and I can say this is a big step up. I've always gone dark to get the heat rejection I wanted but with the Platinum Silver I wanted what I consider a 'classy' look vs the 'sporty' look of dark tint. Clarity is perfect (especially coming from my car that had Suntek). The heat rejection is great but not a good direct comparison since I didn't have the entire windshield of my other car tinted. If you can or think you can get by with it, tinting the windshield makes a large difference.

I'm also at 20%, but mine is legal, with a tint exemption certificate from the state.

15% front windows, 5% rear quarter and rear windshield. Great visibility, not for everyone but perfect for me.

Just did Llumar Ceramic, 35% side windows and 5% on rear quarters, rear glass and glass sunroof. With West Texas summer sun and 100+ degree weather here it makes a HUGE difference...

I did 3M Crystalline all around and am very happy with it, but went with a very conservative tint of 90% up front, and 70% sides and rear to maintain a bone stock look.

I got it primarily for the UV and IR/heat rejection properties—not privacy/aesthetics. Quite happy with it!
