Default Rough Week

1st I found rock chips and road rash on my Saphirre Blue GTS that I've had only for A FEW WEEKS!!!!!

Now, while driving this morning, I noticed a rattle coming from the glass sunroof.

What could it be

Time for a dealer visit. The stone chips is just the start.

I know the sunroof rattle, especially the glass sunroof, is a pretty common problem.

Has there been 1 major reason or has it been just a general issue?

I'm afraid I only have more bad news for you. Both of your problems are created by driving. Taking the car to the dealer only makes things worse- more driving. Your best long term option is to park the car until it can be sold for one you won't want to drive.

To fix the sunroof rattle, turn the stereo up louder.

The cab keeps the sunroof rattle away! As for the rock chips, yes they hurt! I try to never drive too close behind other cars, especially trucks of any size and never one without mudflaps! But as someone has said here before, those little rock chips are "badges of honor" that you "drive your car"! Touch up paint can lessen the ugliness (recommend a tooth pick or tiny brush -not the one that comes w the paint). We typically drive a bit faster than the average driver out there and that adds to the chipping. Some like the clear bra way. It chips too, and then you have lines to look at. I prefer the paint, and a touch-up before wax time.

Sorry to hear, Dr. Color Chip is really easy to use and you get professional results. Can't avoid wear and tear, happens to the best of us. Take the rattle to your dealer.

Yet more hand-waving and excuses for what is, in reality, unacceptable paint durability.

Won't slow you down nor make the car any less fun. I know it hurts at first... But they are just scars, or perhaps more like tattoos, proving a 911's life well lived.

Full front-end clear bra is an excellent investment (and no lines to look at).

It probably has to do with the aerodynamics, but rocks are attracted to this car's paint like tornados to a trailer park.

In the 12 years I owned my '02 Camaro it picked up less tiny rock chips than the 911 has in 1 year.

I guess it is the price I pay for it having to be my daily driver, but I love this car so much I would still happily drive it full of dents and painted primer grey!
