Helping a friend looking for a C4S.

He loves the following car he found:

2016 C4S
176 - Sport Exhaust System
250 - Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
2T - Jet Black Metallic
345 - Steering wheel heating
427 - 20" Carrera Classic Wheels
559 - Side Window Trim in Aluminum (High-Gloss)
581 - Luggage net in passenger footwell
583 - Smoking package
602 - LED headlights incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus)
653 - Electric Slide/Tilt Sunroof in Glass
AG - Standard Interior in Black
P06 - Power Sport Seats (14-way) with Memory Package
P3D - Premium Package i.c.w. Power Sport Seats (14-way)
P3H - BOSE® Audio Package
ZAB - Ornamental Porsche Crest

He will never track the car, so no sport chrono is ok and he is ok with standard steering wheel because he will not use the paddles.

His 1 concern is the Side Window Trim in Aluminum (High Gloss).

Can I get a few opinions about this option and look?

He also found the following car, but it is without the Premium Package:
022 - Instrument Dials in Black
176 - Sport Exhaust System
250 - Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
342 - Seat heating (front)
427 - 20" Carrera Classic Wheels
541 - Seat Ventilation (Front)
581 - Luggage net in passenger footwell
583 - Smoking package
636 - ParkAssist (front and rear)
640 - Sport Chrono Package
653 - Electric Slide/Tilt Sunroof in Glass
840 - SportDesign steering wheel
A1 - Black
AG - Standard Interior in Black
P3H - BOSE® Audio Package
XAA - Aerokit Cup
XEX - Bi-Xenon™ headlights in Black incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS)
ZAB - Ornamental Porsche Crest

Looking for opinions as he wants to pull the trigger today.

Thanks so much

The gloss aluminum trim will look great against the black paint. Old school. And work well with the other bright-work, like the PSE tips, wheels and badging.

Personal preference. Have him go to his local dealer and look at it. I'm sure they'll have at least one car with the aluminum trim. I don't care for it at all personally, but it's totally a personal taste issue.

Can't it be switched out anyway? I saw a car at the dealer with trim hanging off and they just snapped it back on. Looked it could easily have been swapped, but I didn't look closely enough to see if that was the case.

The second one sounds like a really nicely equipped car, being it doesn't have the premium package does that mean it comes with manual instead of power seats ?

Has your friend considered ordering the exact car they want ... It takes a few Months to get but might be worth it ...

I'm personally not a fan of the chrome window trim, I think it looks cheap... YMMV

I'd choose the 2nd car

I believe window trim can be swapped out fairly inexpensively.

Parts alone will be close to $800+ per side.

You have to buy the rear window because the lower trim piece on it is attached as one unit.

Cheapest option is the have it vinyl wrapped. A good place can do it very nicely I'm sure.

The shiny trim looks great. Either car is nice. Price difference may be a reason for not ordering one?

I believe the 50th Anniversary cars came with high gloss window trim which looks really good.

I have black tape on the on the fake chrome trim on my Sport Design steering wheel. When the sun is out, the glare off the trim is absolutely blinding. Found carbon fiber replacement for it on line for $750, but you have to send your steering wheel to them to have them install it, can't do it yourself, and the local dealer said they can't (or maybe won't?) do it either.
