So after looking into it I decided to add the Porsche Sports Exhaust to my C2S.
I don't want it too be too loud, and like the idea of it being switchable and a OEM upgrade.
Went on line and a local dealer had an ad for a "special" to do it for $3K plus tax but it had expired a couple of months back; that's the same cost to add it in the configurator.
Generally business wise August is slow in South Florida, and figuring I had nothing to loose I called and asked if they would honor the special pricing, and to their credit they said they would.
The install is scheduled for next Tuesday.
I just had this done to my C2S. Cost was $3,500 out the door including tax. Called two other dealers. One wanted $4,700 and the other never even called me back with the quote.
After tax that's about where I am $7,180.
Have to ask, how do you like it?
The wife hasn't objected, but of course said "why do you need that"?
-Loving the PSE. Extremely happy I had it installed. Waited about a year after purchase before having it installed. Significantly improves my experience with the 991. No regrets.
Do the flaps stay open all the way through the range or does it get quiet at a certain rpm? This was the case with my 997. I really want to do the PSE on my 991 but not if it cuts out. Thanks in advance...

My flaps stay open (Sport Plus mode) from the time I back out of my garage all the way to 7,600 RPM.
I don't think it ever gets quiet, and in addition, when you get on the gas and rev the engine up with the exhaust turned off, it seems like it sounds just like if you had the exhaust turned on.
Yup, in Sport mode flaps are open right off the bottom. Turn it off and they only open above 4k rpm I think. I'm very glad I did mine. What I love about it is, when you're droning on the freeway and you turn the exhaust off, the car goes dead quiet (except of course for the road of the damn Pirellis). In my Cayman S, when you turn off the PSE, there's almost no difference. Still very loud.
I just got an estimate at a dealer in NC. Cost was about $5K out the door. They quoted 12 hrs installation time for everything
Just a reminder everyone while you are comparing "size" (cost for parts/install) that unless you state whether your car is a 3.4 base or S car the costs will be different. Additional parts are needed for a base non-S car to install PSE. Lower cost for the S car because it already has the vacuum lines and PSE side mufflers standard.
Search on this and other boards for parts list discussions for more than you'll ever want to know.....
