i know your post is only meant with good intentions
50th wheels and colour remain exclusive
the targa project was actually inspired and created in mayfair which went on to gain exclusive approval
from there, netherlands, italy and a few other countries joined in.
in total, 10 per country for 5 countries
a great project and i am delighted
just wrap this " targa florio" 's hoop matte black and there you have it ...the look of the 1980s targa , down to the homage " forged black Fuchs " -look wheels
Ted's is the best looking 991 Targa that I've seen and I think that the silver hoop looks great with his silver body color. But I would wrap the hoop in black for any other body color.
The classic silver looks great. I had that on my 958 Cayenne GTS. Very nice. A true "pure" silver if you may. Not like the modern silvers like platinum, rhodium, and GT. Actually, not sure how long "classic silver" has been around for. Eduardo?
Please, more pictures. Interiors too. Exterior classic silver with the targa bar and black wheels look great!
Oh, boy, there goes the 'exclusivity' of this option for the 50th Anniversary 911 Limited Edition & the 'Dutch/Gulf Blau Targa' even more limited run!
What country in Europe you are located, Ted? How easy or difficult it was for you to get approval from 'Porsche Exclusive' for the 'pepita' inserts on your seats? What was the cost? Thank you.
Saludos,
Eduardo

My 2nd post was (and still is) intended to try to get to the facts of the matter, Ted. But you are not explaining clearly what this is all about. So I will try one more time & then leave it at that.
1) So this is not an individual custom order, correct? It is a Limited Edition for certain European countries similar to the Dutch 'Gulf Blue' 991 4S Targa!
3) What is the price in Euros for this Limited Edition?
4) When you say 'Mayfair', do you mean it was conceived by 'Porsche Centre Mayfair' in Berkeley Square, London and then was approved by 'Porsche Exclusive' in Germany?
5) So 50 'Florio' Targas in total:
UK - 10
Holland - 10
Italy - 10
Can you tell us the other two countries?
6) Is this Limited Edition model in the official configurations?
I don't see it in the UK website...
7) What country in Europe are you located?
8) Do you own this 'Florio' edition or are you just reporting of its existence?

I am biased since my first 911 was a new 1987 " triple black Targa " ...black , black int, std black wheels ( and std black targa hoop ) .
The factory silver targa hoop changed to matte black when the 911's " CHROMED " badges , bumper /window/door/ windshield moldings all went matte black as well as the centers of std Fuchs wheels in the mid 70s...so their designers intended that the hoop , trim and wheel color should be " tone on tone " .
Porsche 911 was one of the first cars , if not the first , to be factory " de chromed " and by the early '80s , all sporty cars had that look.
That is why the current '60s era silver hoop looks odd to my old eyes, esp with dark wheels, since there is no longer any std old school " chrome " shiny trim on the outside .
It would be nice if there is a FACTORY option, at least, for a matte black hoop if an owner spec'ing black wheels wanted to do what the company itself did so many decades ago .

i apologise if my previous answer was not clear enough and i will try to be clearer albeit your response feels a bit like a cross examination rather than fun on a forum

Ted, it's understandable as you're somewhat new here, but you see, Eduardo is a black hole of Porsche information, history and general minutiae. He sucks in all Porsche data and every so often explodes into a super nova of intense Porsche knowledge. All of RL basks in its light. So when you introduce something new to our Porsche universe, you’re bound to be sucked into Eduardo’s sphere. Don’t be offended, for your knowledge will live on forever.
Ted, great car. Just nice to know some details when posting a new car. We're all car buffs here and like to know the specifics. Your first post only had a few pictures.
Florio, tell me the whole story now! With more pictures too.

Thank you Ted for the information. Sorry if I sounded a bit like Perry Mason, but I had not had my coffee yet in the morning.
As you can see from the initial posts, everyone thought you had just added a custom vinyl 'Florio' on the side of your Targa and that was it. This is a whole different thing...and a much more important development. And we appreciate very much the information you have posted. In fact, I think you this is a 'breaking story' for on the internet on the subject of this Limited Edition 'Mayfair' project. I have google for it and can't find anything on it. So kudos to you for coming to us here at Rennlist with it first!

Well, we got the information out of him...although it took some doing!
And to the judge: the prosecution now rests its case, your honor!
