Default Removing 991 Sun Visors

Guys does anyone know of a link to detailed instructions for removing 991 visors?

I have a 911 50th and would like to have them wrapped in leather to also hide the seatbelt warnings.

I followed instructions that I found posted for 997 and was able to easily remove the visors but they were still attached connected to a wire and didn't want to force anything so I reconnected the visor.

Thanks

Why don't you remove seat belt warning deacals? I believe there is a thread on that subject. Took me about 45 minutes using rubbing alcohol.

Agree. But use denatured alcohol, followed by Aerospace 303. Wear rubber gloves.

Can this be done without removing the visors?

Yes. Just use a large bath towel in your lap to protect the leather from any stray sticker bits saturated with alcohol.

Dwell time is key. Be patient. They come right off.

Done. Not sure I fully have the glue off as there is still a bit of shine where the sticker was but already looks pretty good.

Yep your link/post was my guide. I did a second run with the pad of paper towel on the passenger side since I didn't leave it on as long to get the sticker off with slight impatience, then scrubbed for a bit on both. So my only comment for others is longer the better with the first pad/alcohol run so the alcohol penetrates further into the base/adhesive under the sticker. I did 30 min on the drivers side and 20 on the passenger and one is better than the other. Didn't pull out the tooth brush though : ) Driver side came out really good, passenger could use a deeper run but its really damn hot out in FL today so will wait or see how it looks after the protectant. Went at both sides enough so dust wouldn't stick though. I thought I had some of the 303 already but mine is their fabric protector and not the vinyl one. I have some einszett that is similar so will try that in a bit after I cool off.

^^^^ mmaturo

Good job. Not good to do it in the sun either. It takes patience and a few times over. A pain in the *** overall with that adhesive. It seems like you've got it though. Nice work.

I was in my garage but its mid 90s out and 1000% humidity : ) Can't wait till I have my new additional double garage/man room above finished with insulted doors and AC inside for just this kind of stuff on summer days.

Perfect timing on the post though as I was starting to look for replacement visors.
