My Obscure Vanity Plate
My vanity plate arrived this week. Here's a picture. Having read many of the posts others have made of their vanity plates and their reasons, decisions, likes, dislikes, etc. I landed on my own criteria.
First, I didn't want a plate that would draw attention to me. (Driving a new 911 covers that base.)
Second, I leaned away from getting a plate that touted the obvious, like I'm driving a Porsche and it's a 911, and it's a model year 2015.
Third, I wanted one that was a bit of a puzzle, and I could be satisfied if nobody ever solves it.
Finally, I wanted something that tied together some aspect of my career with some aspect of my joy of owning a 911.
Puzzle solution: The 'HEX' aspect relates to having spent a lifetime of working with hexadecimal values. The '38F', read as 38Frank, is a hexadecimal value when converted to decimal turns out to be.... 911. (I know this violates my second criteria, but only I know that.)
I am a geek.

You had me. And then you lost me with the hexadecimal BS. I just think you like big ***** at stop signs. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
