Hi guys. I convinced my girlfriend to travel to Europe for our honeymoon.
We will arrive at Frankfurt September 25, still in time to visit the Auto Show. My girlfriend wants to visit Berlin. We want to do a road trip but I don´t know if we should do it around Frankfurt (and visit Stuttgart, which I already know), or around Berlin (and visit Leipzig, which I have never been to). We will be in Germany until October 3.
Please give me ideas as to where to travel for our road trip and if it is a good idea to rent a Porsche? I am learning German and would like to practice and get to know the country.

Avis Prestige in Germany rents Porsche's ... not sure what the rates are but it used to be around $199 a day...
Go to Berlin and Leipzig, and spend a day wandering in the Harz mountains. Goslar, Bad Harzburg, Wernigerode, are all charming. Take a hike (or the narrow-gauge train) up the Brocken, or hike to Torfhaus.
Go to Rothenburg ob de Tauber. Original walled village/town about 1,000 years old! Was not destroyed in WW II. Touristy but worth a full day exploring. About 2 hour drive North East of Stuttgart. Your fiancé or girlfriend will both love it.
How does your fiancée feel about all this travel with your girlfriend??

Thanks guys for the suggestions, keep them coming. I will go look the cities up in Google Maps...
This year's Oktoberfest in Munich runs from Sep 19 thru Oct 4. If you're in Germany at that time, it really shouldn't be missed.
+1000! Grew up in Munich, and go every chance I get (not that often these days).

Sixt also might rent them too ...
Unfortunately they also started to charge you per kilometer (forgot how much) if you go over 100km.
OP: Be careful on the Autobahn, very strict rules, and tons of unmarked police vehicles that video tape. Also, radar installations are installed within some speed limit signs. But nothing is as bad as getting pulled over for tailgating.

wow is it over 100km now ... I thought it used to be 250km...

Personally I prefer Volkfest. It's the second largest beer festival in the world behind Oktoberfest. It's in Stuttgart Sept 25 - Oct 11. It's about 80% Germans, so fewer tourist.

Could be 250km... I was visiting my parents in Muenster (North West), and thought about renting a Panamera (was about to buy one for the wife and wanted a long test drive) to head down to Munich, obviously the distance (there and back) was too much $$$ in the Pani with the kilometer restriction so I ended renting a E Class diesel - was very impressed, diesels come a long way. LOL!
If you like WW2 history, Nuremburg is fantastic! Old Town is a great walking area and has some excellent pubs and good food. I stayed at Hotel Victoria and would highly recommend.
