Default 15' 991 GTS MT at new Corvette track

Some go pro video on the new track in Bowling Green, KY taken last month. Should be titled how to pass a Corvette. Fast forward to 1min 25 sec.

Great job on the track. I enjoyed the video. I have a GTS on order and was wondering....How did the car feel on the track?

How does your GTS compare to other cars you've driven at the Ring?

easily as fast as the 997.1 GT3, steering not as great with feedback, the wider track definitely helps with confidence and stability, Sport PASM is useless,
far too stiff for anything but the smoothest road...

I didn't find the PSM too intrusive, the PDK is only usable in SPORT+ and shifting manually IMO.

Even the cabriolet is a superior track car to the E92 M3, and probably the 997 Targa 4S (except in the wet)

the car might even be faster than a 997.2 GT3, its certainly easier to drive it fast.

Track looks great up there in Kentucky. I was hoping for something of that size when they built AMP, down here in Georgia

Good to see it being used. I'm curious to hear more about vs .1 and .2 GT3. If you track it at any of your normal tracks let us know! Even though it is a cab your tracking it and impressed.

I might take it to Sears or Laguna Seca once it arrives from Germany.

If I may offer a suggestion - when tracking a cabriolet its usually best to put the top down, because if you aggressively ride over a corner berm it can be enough to activate the pop-up rollbars and if they do they *may* shred your top and blow out your rear window - and that will be a pricey fix. I've seen it happen on two occasions at the track before, one was a Mercedes Cab and the other a Aston Martin Vantage conv. that got up on two wheels briefly. Not sure how high or how far the Porsche 991's come up in the back as I've never seen them deployed, but I'm thinking they would probably make contact with the roof. Would be interesting to find out for sure, I can't find any info on that 991 deployment however.

what's reparable, my head or the cabriolet roof?

I repeatedly flew over a bunch of berms while lapping w/o problem

I'm sure every car is different. Those pop up rollover bars make the weirdest noise when they deploy, like a giant, magnified ratcheting noise behind your head when they go off, at least they did on the Mercedes CLK Cab when I was driving it back in 2002 during an AMG event I was instructing at. Put two wheels up hard on the curbing and got a little air on the leeside, and off they went! We had the top down, so no harm, no foul.

The Blue is a great color on your cab. Looks sharp.

My car is a coupe, no sunroof. It tracked fantastic. The NCM track is technical, lots of tight turns, blind spots and areas with very little runoff. The car pulls awesome, and as you can see gives the Corvettes all they can handle.

Also I have MT, no Pdk. Lots of shifting, couple areas down to second. Wound out in 4th on straight at 140.
