I agree that it would be very "unfortunate" if the rollover bars deployed with
or without the roof up ... and the damage if the latter was the case would be
significant, on the other hand lapping with the roof up has some advantages;
additional protection for the occupants, better aero, and some (minor) additional rigidity.

The Karussell is a great test for this, its very rough (with original paving from 1927) and banked at around 25-30 ... which is known to 'confuse' some
cars electronics (since they dont expect to be at those angles) ...

so I was lucky ... they did not deploy...

I agree though its something to be carefully considered before going on track with a cabriolet! (and too be honest one that I did not consider, so I appreciate the heads up)
