The next time you are going to be up in Seattle feel free to ping me and after I have my car we can compare the builds in person. You went for classy, classic and timeless. I went a different direction with lots of red
I'd definitely like to catch up when I'm next in Seattle. I'm a little nervous about seeing your Targa 'though as that color was my initial pick for my Targa. I'm glad I went with the brown but seeing yours might make me change my mind! Seriously, your car looks like it'll be fantastic and I'd definitely like to see it.
I like the look of the build with one exception (and of course its personal taste), and that is the black wheels in that color scheme just are not workin' with the Mahogany. If you like 'em, that's cool - but perhaps see if Wheel Enhancement or HRE can run up some Photoshops for you in alternates. Myself, I'd like to match the color of the Targa bar to the wheel color. Great ride, though.
I had exactly the same concern when I ordered the car: I wasn't sold on the look of the black wheels and the sports fascia, not to mention the fascia's affect on the car's approach angle. I did an alternate build, based on the Targa 4S that I actually liked the look of more. (It was also my "budget version" and was about $30k less!)
Here's that version, then mine:
When I got the call that my car had arrived, I was definitely prepared to turn it down and either order a Targa 4S, keep my C2 or do something completely different. (The idea of a used Cayman was pretty appealing, as I'd be more likely to track it. My kids would have killed me 'though!)
But the brown Targa 4S looked much better in person than I'd thought it would and the black wheels actually look really good. The car is incredibly hard to photograph, as it looks quite different depending on the light. I'm still not sure about the sports fascia and might end up swapping it out. But for now, I'm very happy.
