Next day, pulling into the same spot, I notice this ugly streak down the wall and onto the floor. Getting out I walk around for a better look. Suddenly it all becomes clear. Some homeless dude took a dump leaning against the wall, wiped his butt with his hand, wiped his hand on my fender.
Jeez, Chuck! That sounds like a worse nightmare than being keyed or Nick Murray's travail. It's gross but also funny.

Definitely not deserved. I get as upset as anyone when someone parks like an idiot and takes 2 spaces or too close to me, but you don't damage someone else's property. The profanity makes it even worse.

But in our world, inattentive, texting, eating, yapping, clueless drivers far outnumber malicious vandals....
Therefore the worst things will typically happen while your car is in fact attended by you and being driven by you.....

Things I worried about like door dings never happened. What happened instead I come back to find light little scratches where probably someone carrying shopping bags brushed against the car. Or sat their stuff on it. Or a bunch of kids looking it over leave their greasy finger prints all over the hood.
Then there was the time I caught this one mature gent walking back and forth real suspicious like sneaking looks at the car. Turns out he's had a lifetime crush on 911's, was embarrassed to be caught indulging but couldn't manage to walk away either. When I told him all about the car and let him look it over real good he was like a kid in a candy store.
Anything concentrates that much power, money and emotion, bound to be polarizing. The careless, still gonna be careless. Haters gonna hate. And, admit it, you knew it was coming, $hit happens.
