Default How do you clean the interior metal trim?

I have the full leather interior with the standard metal trim.

What kind of material is the interior trim that goes around the center console and in front of the glove compartment and around the interior?

How do you clean in?

I use Maguires quik interior detailer. I think any interior detailer will work.

Its aluminum with a clear coat, right? Clay, polish, wax.

Any quick detailer spray.

Spray towel. Clean. Buff dry with second towel.

The Fresno Porsche Dealer had a standard trim piece removed from a car to replace it. They cut the removed standard trim piece to see what it was made of, hearing that it is "just painted plastic" like many on this list claim.
They found that the standard trim piece has a real metal veneer covering it . . . not paint.

Yes but the aluminum veneer is in turn coated, is it not?

Plexus works good and does not leave any streaks.

Whatever chemical, use a Zaino Snow White Boarder Free Towel.

I'd wipe it down with a damp micro fiber towel, followed by drying with a micro fiber towel.

I use 1Z Einszett Cockpit Premium Interior Cleaner. Fantastic for all interior trim. I use Zaino leather cleaner and conditioner for the leather.

I wrote a hilarious spoof of lunarx's spelling error, but then I figured that half of you mutts wouldn't get it.

-----------

For interior stuff: carpet, leather, plastics and metal trim, I use Griot's interior cleaner. Great stuff, no odor.
