A GF once complained that I hadn't consulted her before buying my first 911S in 2006. Never complained when I took her to Aspen to ski or to Europe. She was soon an ex-GF.

Being 72 and single, never had a problem buying a new Porsche. About to order my 6th Porsche, a Carrera 4 GTS for delivery in Europe.

My wife encouraged me to get mine last summer. I think she was just feeling guilty for getting her 3rd new vehicle in a row.

I was already into Porsche before I met my wife. When we moved to Penn 3 years ago I let my 997 turbo go for a Panamera 4 that I could drive daily all year. The TT was a fair weather garage queen.

Strange thing was after training it to NYC for 6 years and driving only on the weekends I wasn't traveling, I was now driving winding, southeastern Pennsylvania, horse country roads to my office every day in a Panamera. Great car but not my turbo or any 911. My wife could tell and said to me you really need to get another 911 and even encouraged me to go with Guards Red since I never had the color before. She is a keeper and drives a Cayenne too.

When I went through a horrible PTSD flare-up last year my wife encouraged me to buy the turbo I always wanted, and start modding it to keep me busy. Can't complain. Although she is starting to roll her eyes a bit, especially after seeing the bill for cup tires that will last me around 8,000 miles if I'm lucky.

+1 that's exactly how my wife is at this very moment. She just wants me to shut up and go buy something ASAP :-)

I bought my wife a new car, take her on a surprise vacation, and deliver flowers to her office. Then I propose a fun car for both of us. The rest are history.
