LOL, there's an option to paint the regular mirrors (which are black on the bottom) all body color. Now they've figured out how to charge you to paint the bottoms of the SD mirrors black, so they'll look like the regular mirrors.

They don't miss a trick, do they?

I'm sure they've got industrial psychologists working on how to subtly nudge all the people who don't like black-bottom mirrors into buying folding mirrors and adding "painted bottom" options for $400, and getting all the people who DO like black-bottom mirrors into buying monochrome SDs and adding the $365 "deviated bottoms" option.

And you don't even want to go there with deviated bottoms...

Okay, I guess if it's not ordered already, you have to get these to match all the black bits. So I assume this is for '16 cars. I wonder when and if the new steering wheel will be available.

If you want the black lower parts of the mirrors, just get the optional electric folding mirrors that come standard with the black bottom section. They are a no-cost option, at least on the 2015 GTS. I got them on my GTS because I liked the black parts on the mirrors to complement the other GTS black bits.

I wouldn't be surprised if Porsche has deleted the no-cost option for the electric folding mirrors on the 2016 since they are now apparently charging $$ to get the standard Sport Design mirrors to look like the no-cost optional electric folding mirrors.

Edit: Just checked the configurator and it looks like the electric folding mirrors are still a no-cost option. I like the look of the Sport Design mirrors a little better, but if you want the black bottoms section, then the electric folding mirrors are an option for you and you don't have to pay to get them painted, plus you get the benefit of being able to fold them electrically if you wan to, or actually program your car to have them fold automatically when you turn the car off.

Do you live in the US? The electric folding mirrors were/are a no cost option on the GTS in US. Which model are you referring to that you paid for the electric folding mirrors? They of course were an extra cost on regular Carreras.
