Default 991 GTS - Extended Range Fuel Tank

Recently ordered my 2015 GTS, but was disappointed that neither my dealer nor the configurator were able to set me up with the 90 liter fuel tank option.

Has anyone been successful in optioning their 991 GTS with it?

Not available in North America on the GTS... same as rear seat delete and lightweight bucket seats.

That's something I wish my 991 had.

The only thing I will say about the 90 L fuel tank is that you lose half of your frunk space, just like an all-wheel-drive Carrera or turbo. I would have probably passed on it even if we could get it simply because of that. I got spoiled with a few years in Boxster's, and the deep Frunk is so useful on a daily type of car.

Interesting you can't option this with the rear-drive GTS as it is the same option that is available on the 991 GT3. Or is the 90L option not the same as the "Extended Range Fuel Tank" that is available on the GT3?

I have the 90l tank on my GT3 and its the same size front trunk as my Cayman. Since the GTS is the same body, I don't think you loose that much trunk space, if any.

So from the sounds of it, you can only get this on a 991 if all three are true:

- it is rear drive (no C4 or Turbo) -- not sure about GT2 variant?
- it is left hand drive (no UK or JP)
- it is delivered in EU

Anyone have any differing experience? (My original reason for asking is now moot. Opted to just get my GTS with standard tank instead of arguing with corporate im Deutschland.)

Hmmm... haven't seen one, I'd just read that was the case, that it essentially takes up the same space as the front diff in an AWD car. But it's sizable and it does have to go somewhere -- where does yours go?

Not sure on the shape of the tank.

We did ED with the Cayman, and so I knew what two bags would fit up front. I was picking up the GT3 from FL, so I asked the sales guy if the trunk was the same, he said yes. He was right. Both bags fit up front just fine.

Here's a couple of pictures, first if from the front corner of the trunk and the second is the back. Seems to be about ~1 inch deeper then the cayman.
