I'm not a huge fan of his posts either... Not exclusively because of his .2 rants, but in general he just comes across to me as an overly abrasive poster with a fairly low signal-to-noise ratio.
For the record, I'm a huge 991.1 fan, and have (hopefully) been at least a somewhat valuable contributor to the awesome HFS thread.
But I'm also also a huge Porsche Turbo and turbo fan. I had a weekend loaner with a 991.2 base and loved the power. In contrast, I also took an extended drive in a 991.1 base manual, thinking the manual might make the lower hp car still feel peppy and hated it. I joked that it felt like i was driving around with the parking brake on and I could not wait to get back into my seventeen-year-old 996 Turbo. Nope, mine doesn't have an upgraded exhaust with a sountrack that reminds one of LeMans (which I sometimes enjoy). It's pretty quiet in fact. But it will PIN you back in your seat.

I love my 991.1 C2S with its glorious PSE, but not a .2 hater and almost bought a 997TT before finding my 991

The .1 inventory seems to be on the lower end of total cars out there. One thing that has been surprising is how many are at NOT at Porsche dealers. Seems like an all time high. From many reports I hear, Porsche dealers give some of the worst trade in #'s $$$, so that may explain it?? You'd think a Porsche dealer would want to have more pre-owned cars since they're always seeming to be short of them. Some guys could be moving to other brands too, but like I mentioned many reports of guys getting higher trade in or outright sale $$, from NON-Porsche dealers.
Dealers will give you 20 reasons why your car is worth less $$ than you think, but will give a buyer 20 reasons why it's worth the asking price on the flip side. It's fine, go make $5K-$10K on a pre-owned sale, but some these guys have a lot more margin than $10K on some of these Porsche dealer cars.
On the flip side, many of the buyers out there are a pain to deal with and many guys would rather trade in to a dealer. In the end, the buyer ends up paying more for these cars. Selling higher priced cars FSBO is truly a pain. Selling $30K Honda's, etc. is a breeze. Once you get to the higher price points in these German cars, etc the buyers seem to be more of a pain. My opinion. Not all of them, but a higher percentage. Many dreamers, never ending shoppers, and guys just looking for a unicorn deal.
On the flip side, looking at classified ads here on RL, many of these FSBO sellers are quite a piece of work too. Goes both ways.

This one has been on here before it's has been wrecked to what extent who knows.
