Cal Worthington grossed $316.8 million in 1988, making him at the time the largest single owner of a car dealership chain...
Check out the free cordless phone he was offering to buyers in 1989...
Sorry...we now return you to our regularly scheduled HFS 991 program...
I agree... If I was still shopping for a 991.1 this is one that would definitely interest me. Carmax can be hit or miss with some cars being a bit rough, but the build is great on this one. Also low(ish) miles, single owner, and no obvious signs of neglect or ham-fisted carmax repairs from the photos.
Also, based on the build date (March 2014) and first registration date (September 2014), it is likely still under factory warranty for another couple of months if there is anything that needs to get addressed right after purchase.
Not a ton of options, I'm sure most would prefer 18-ways, sport exhaust, full leather, etc. but it does have the paddle shift sport design steering wheel and Sport Chrono along with a few other goodies. Nice honest car IMHO.
I'm surprised someone hasn't reserved it yet!

Had an oil change at 8600 miles, and another at 20,000. It had 10K service, but is overdue for 20K—needs the brake fluid change and cabin filter replaced—its about a year over due. Also recently, it had the Vacuum valve replace (COV issue I think), which seems to be relatively common. The good news is that the in service date is August 2015, so I’ve confirmed it has 15 months of factory warranty remaining. I Would like to see more frequent oil changes, but the service advisor I talked to didn’t seem to think it was a huge deal. Any concerns on the history?
Thanks.

I'd focus on the condition and cosmetics... Is the exterior nearly perfect? Is the interior nearly perfect? Any signs of paint work or accident damage not reported on carfax?
On a low mileage, still under warranty car, you don't really have to sweat some of the other details nearly as much.

Anytime. I'm ok with accident if someone wants to save $$. Seems like always a $10K hit to value. As mentioned, close to $60K would be a nice deal considering happy with cosmetics.
Yes, you can CPO car with accident as long as no structural damage and no more than 3 repainted panels. CPO is just an extended warranty with a condition checklist for tire, brake, maintenance, etc requirements. Wouldn't let the CPO logo give you any more confidence in the cars condition. Have seen plenty heavily tracked cars and even ones that aren't up to CPO specs as far as tires and brakes for sale.
The slightly delayed oil change is pretty trivial, and the brake flush and cabin filter are complete non-issues.

I actually googled the VIN last night and found this car was previously on the HFS thread back in Jan. It’s been at CarMax for 6+ months. I appreciate the guidance on this one. Let the search continue!
