HOT FOR SALE: Pick of the Week 991
#8791
PDCC can increase the handling capability without increasing spring or roll bar stiffness, though some say at the cost of a slightly 'artificial' feel.
On a 991.1 GTS, I'd break it out like this:
On a 991.1 GTS, I'd break it out like this:
- PASM only if you want excellent handling and very good ride comfort, selectable at the touch of a button.
- PASM + PDCC if you want even better cornering/handling performance without sacrificing ride comfort, but at the possible expense of artificial feel.
- Sport-PASM (SPASM) only if you are a purist and want maximum performance by conventional means. Even in soft mode, pretty stiff.
- SPASM + PDCC if you want even more cornering performance than SPASM and don't mind the PDCC 'feel'. Again, even in soft mode, pretty stiff, but no stiffer than SPASM only.

It's the lowest priced CPO 991 C4S with manual in the country so for someone who wants one, I think its a solid starting price. Any time someone lists "$XX,991" as the price I assume it is negotiable

I test drove the C4S at Sunset about a month ago. Granted, it was before the car had gone through reconditioning, but it showed signs of careless/inattentive owners. It has had three owners (I think Carfax shows four). There were a few exterior blemishes that I've been told have been addressed now, but were red flags for me about what other types of things may have been ignored by the previous owners.
The front end has full clear bra that is yellowing, and will certainly need to be replaced. On top of the yellowing, it looks like a poorly installed pre-cut kit, with edges visible around all body panels. Also some ugly razer knife cuts. Couple gouged spot on the hood where the film is now gone. The clear spats on the rear fenders are also yellow and need replacing. The perils of clear paint film on white cars Sunset has said they will replace the rear spats, but you're looking at ~$2k to remove/replace the front end PPF. Take that into consideration with your offer.
Good news is that the DME is clean, and it has a new set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports on it. I agree it could be a good buy for the right person, but the price needs to come down, and expect to refresh all of the PPF.

Based on the previous review by a Rennlister, would definitely pass myself even with a $10K haircut. No SC is a deal breaker for me anytime. Manual or not.

STG, you are the expert, but not everyone favors low miles over low years like you do... Within reason, these cars should be able to take many more miles than they are usually driven, but the materials age like any other car...
We all like 1yr old and low miles, but if in need to choose, I would rather have 1yr old with 20k miles vs 4 yrs old with 6k miles. Just my 2cents

It's all good
I just look at cars that are priced accordingly regardless of miles.
I do "prefer" certain things personally, but have no issues posting cars in the 20K-30K mileage range if priced right. Can't be too picky these days! Not to mention, these cars are getting older and the miles are racking up.
As long as it's a 991.1, I don't care what year it is. They're all good

How long have you been following here, fricken 3 days? I'd pass on anything? I would buy 90% of the cars I post which have been in the 100's here. All I do is hype up the hot cars here that myself and others post.
If you think your post is such a smoking deal, go buy it then. What are you waiting for??
A beat up car with high miles and no Sport Chrono for $78K, go at it. If it's that good, what are you waiting for? Who cares if it's a 4S?? There are millions of build combos, you think this is some unicorn?
This all coming from a guy with 56 posts, never started a thread, and not even a paying RL member.
Stop wasting everyone's time here please.

^^^ a HFS record for 991.1 depreciation. Wow!
Not surprising it came from Sonnen with that high MSRP. All Porsche dealer service. Surprised not coming up with any history on it other than CarFax.
Still has factory warranty until July 2017.
What a build. Has the Aerokit Cup package as well. This car is ringing a bell. Can't place it. Although, dealer history isn't bringing back any memories.

I've seen and purchased cars with 40K miles that look and drive like they just rolled out of the showroom, virtually perfect in every way.
I've also seen and passed on cars with 8K-12K miles that looked ridden hard and put away wet... Dings, scratches, curb rash, bolster wear, button wear, etc.
Ultimately I don't care how many miles or how many model years old within a particular generation of Porsche like the 991.1, I just want it priced appropriately for the year/miles and be as close to that flawless showroom condition as I can get.
This is one of the difficulties in shopping for out-of-area cars... Low miles and seller descriptions of the condition often do not line up with my expectations when I actually put eyes on the car or have a trusted person do it for me.
