They actually improved the gate and linkage. I have the S and think it's one of the sweetest transmissions I've had barring the S2000, but the manual in the GTS from everything I've read seems to be a nice improvement over the S.

This was discussed several weeks ago. I don't think this was ever confirmed. Even after a forum member checked part numbers with Porsche parts department.

Nobody ever posted the part numbers for the gts. It may very well have had an update.

It's a fabulous transmission, just takes some getting used to 7 forward gears. I wouldn't be surprised if they changed nothing and said they did a minor revision, now everyone claims its vastly improved and one of the best MTs available.

Well I have it in my 991 S..My only gripe is the feel or the lack of feel..Its very smooth and precise but just lacks a bit of feel..So I was wondering if the GTS filtered some of the feel back in..I had a 997 S and there was a lot more of a mechanical feel to it.I did have trouble getting into 1st gear a lot!!! That sucked..all in all I think the 991 S MT is as good and better in ways.
I do love the feel of the 997 GT3 MT..I would love that..

I'm sure there's no way they interchange with a 991, but the hot setup for 996TT shifting is 997GT3 shifter or 997 Short Shift Kit. Both interchange with 996 internals. Nice improvement.
