I wonder if the vents on the bottom are forecasting some sort of venting/duct work on the rear bumper. I can't imagine they'd leave them as seen on these cars.

Most likely those are durability mileage cars. In order to move cars around and get lots of mileage on them they meet in Kansas. I know some of these guys. In Los Angeles Porsche used to use a company called the Prieta Group. Not sure if they are even around any more. They contracted with Porsche, Volvo and Audi back in the day. There's another company called Kett Engineering and they contract with MBZ & BMW for durability testing.

Cool pics out in the wild. Great job!

I was reading my latest issue of Christophorus Mag the other day and it had an article about the exhaust sound engineer and pictures of the sound studio. I'm just praying they get the sound right on these turbos. #scared.

I believe they are forecasting the openings required to vent out air from the new turbo motors on the base 991 Carrera & Carrera S. These vents will be an integral part of the design of the new .2 991 rear bumpers on these models.

They could also be altitude/cold weather testing. I used to see prototypes quite regularly in Breckenridge. 10,000ft, snow clogged intakes and brutal February temps will shake things out pretty quickly.

Yes, looks like turbo venting in the rear bumper cover. Not sure I like the exhaust set-up in picture #1. I love the center exhaust of the GT3.....but these are too far apart.

2nd car has current S exhaust placement but venting in the rear quarter panel similar to the first car. Could we be seeing both the base and S variants here?

I think they are taking the Aston Martin clone look a little too far.

These "durability testers", even if their job is not high-paying, have an unbeatable perk of sampling new-model cars even before they appear on the market.
But on the other hand, driving all those new Porsches may not be a fun to them; it's their "job".

They were just coasting along much slower than traffic.
35 in a 55 zone, huh..........they were obviously breaking in the cars per the owner's manuals.
