I have SPASM on a 2016 GTS. Would not want it any other way. Scraping is rarely an issue. Use common sense and you are fine.

Spasm looks way better than a PASM car and that alone is worth the 900 bucks.

If I were you--Skip the delivery and order a 991.2 w spasm. Same or better power. Great car. Or You might keep looking at 911s at traffic lights wondering why they look better than your car.

Or if you have the know how, buy some lowering springs.

i wish more people understood this. just because one person says they don't scrape doesn't mean the spasm cars won't scrape....they will, and they do, it just depends on the slope of the road/driveway being traversed.

Wake up call. The 911 is a sports car. Has potential to scrape with any of the options. That worried? Get a Macan.

Geez I know guys with GT3's that don't worry about these things. Unbelievable.

True, but I had SPASM on my 997 GTS that I had for almost 4 years, and also on my current 991 GTS that I have had for a little over one year. I have never scraped, but I am careful.

At least the 991.2 guys can order that front axle lift to sleep better at night

super. i'm sure other owners whose cars do scrape are careful too (includes me), but that doesn't change the roads and obstacles those cars face. spend some time over here on the west coast and you'll quickly understand what i'm speaking about.

The 50th had SPASM, the GTS has PASM and I presume the bottom has neither. Appears the 50th and GTS to be of the same ride height but they are said to be 10mm diff ? T

I'd agree with this Tony;

>Appears the 50th and GTS to be of the same ride height...<

although with the lighting and camera angle its tough to be sure.

Yup. My 2014 991S with SPASM scrapes my driveway every time I enter and exit. Same with entering and exiting many of the commercial parking lots in Los Angeles. Nothing I can do about it. Changing the angle of attack prevents scraping only about 50% of the time. Fortunately, it's only the black plastic lip, and I really don't care.

If I ordered a new 991.2, I would not spec SPASM.

But if you did order a new 991.2 with SPASM you could spec Front Axle Lift.

Yes, I could.

However, I wouldn't choose to spend the extra money for SPASM plus a system to prevent the front end from scraping because I had ordered SPASM.

PSAM is just fine.

Why the head banging?

Because I am the idiot that ordered Front Axle Lift and not SPASM.

I see.

No worries. You'll be happy with PASM.

IMO.
