Default Bumper Repaint and Xpel Replacement

Am I being **** or should I force my neighbors to pay for this repair after backing into my car?

Well, you can't leave it like that!! It's not a 2001 Toyota.

Someone has to pay.

Huh what? Um, they hit your car causing enough damage to require a repaint... of course they should pay, why would you cover their mistake?

Did you witness this happening or did they let you know what happened? Either way this makes me thankful for my garage.

If not, time to find some new neighbors.

Seriously? This is a question? Paint, Xpel, whatever - of course they pay.

If you did it, you should pay. If they did it, they should pay.

Pretty sure if you hit your neighbor's Chrysler Pacifica with your Porsh-uh, he would not be on the Pacifica forum asking if you should pay or not.

Stay detached and let the insurance co. sort it out... that's what they are for. Get your car fixed and keep peace with your neighbor at the same time.

they should offer to pay. If they have't already I'd stop inviting them to the holiday open house. And make sure my dog dropped a few big bombs on the front lawn

I, guessing you didn't see them hitting your car nor did they say sorry I hit your car. I'm which case that's on your insurance. If they did fess up to it, get their insurance info and let your insurance cos sort it out.

Sucks, but this is just a minute amount of damage. I would not take the whole bumper off and repaint, I would take it to a good independent paint specialist or dealer probably knows or has one.

I'm willing to bet most of the rub marks will buff out, for the area right below the parking light where the paint appears to be missing, a good paint shop will be able to level it out, air brush it in and clear coat it to a point where you will have to be inches from it to tell (if you can).

Trust me, a good paint guy can do wonders.

To each their own but I would definitely get the bumper repainted... blending/matching will never make it uniform. I had a very similar thing happen with my white M3 and the input I received from everyone (beyond just the BMW approved body shop) was to repaint the bumper. Blending was an option but I knew it would kill me inside a bit every time I looked at it and I was paying out of pocket too.

To me 'good enough' when it comes to paint work... particularly on a 911... is never enough.
