I did however see a white 991 GT3 in the Target parking lot earlier... must say I'm still not the biggest fan of the clear tails but otherwise beautiful car!

Hi Vise,
Quick question for you. I'm finalizing my order and I've decided to stay away from the GTS special interior. I just really prefer the leather look and feel for me personally. However, I want it to look a little different and I like the way your painted interior trim looks. I'm going Carmine Red. Any regrets on the painted option? Does it look like painted metal or plastic? It's hard to tell from photos how it really blends in with the rest of the high quality finish materials.
What I'm considering doing is getting the dash/door trim painted and leaving the center console trip black leather. Thoughts on how this would look since you get to look at your configuration every time you drive it?
Thanks,
Jeff

Hey Jeff,
I love the painted interior trim... it was one of my must have options from day 1 and super happy with it. Zero regrets. It is very high quality and while I assume it is plastic it doesn't look cheap at all. You really get to see the metallic flake too which is awesome. The extra colour in a dark (black) interior really pops too and I've gotten tons of compliments on it. The painted trim is actually one thing that impresses non-car people the most if that matters to you...
That said Carmine Red is a bit different obviously since it will likely be a bit louder... I still love the idea though and say go for it. As long as you're truly in love with the colour (as I am with Sapphire Blue) I think it is a great idea. I would also strongly suggest going with the painted center console as well, to me it helps tie the look together.
Also found some pics for you... its from a Boxster GTS but will give you a good idea. Are you going all leather or considering keeping the alcantara on the doors/dash along with full leather seats?

Thanks for the tips Vise. I'm likely in the minority but for me personally I'm not a fan of the Alcantara and will be opting for an all leather interior. While I agree the Alcantara is more sporty I'll be spending many many hours in the interior and I just prefer leather.
This is what I'm thinking about doing (Carmine Red trip but leather center console). To me I like the way the red trim adds a bit of visual excitement and breaks up the all leather look: I also like how the center console blends in with the PCM in black and I'm not willing to pay to have that sucker painted:

All good, I'm sure it will look awesome. I actually think painting the PCM is a bit of overkill not to mention the ridiculous price. Your configurator image looks fantastic too.
Also not sure if you have it but I'd recommend the smoking package, the center console looks cleaner with the door vs the tiny opening.

Good suggestion on the smoking package. I assumed the "hole" would be a good place to leave my phone but maybe it's too small. I'll take another look when I'm at the dealer next week for sure.
Thanks,
Jeff
