As SDaddy said all engines are rated at 7800. Here's the data page from my manual.

Not just a RPM bump.

I'm aware of those as well. The intake flaps are there to not limit low end torque while the cam is there to produce higher hp with revs. It's bin the recipe for ever in motor sport.

Depends on the increase of the lobe whether lift or duration. Fine tuning the balance can produce more torque lower or higher hp in the upper range. Cam shaft changes don't necessarily equate to higher rpm capability. Valves, lifters, gaskets, head bolts, piston profile, combustion chamber profile, injector size, port flow, etc all play a part. Usually why cam profile changes are relatively small.

That's what I suspected, difference between red line and fuel cut off limiter. Would like to know how the dme logs over revs and what the threshold values are for stage 1 and 2 specifically.

What!? The GTS hits max hp 100rpm sooner than Powerkit and torque at the same time. What is going on?! What's different?

OT - In regards to the other specs, I'm really glad my car isn't using .8L of oil every 1,000km.

Don't know until we see a list of parts.

I'm anxious to see a parts comparison of Power Kit and GTS too. If it turns out there are not hardware differences, the change must be in the tune.

The GTS is a great packaged car with a nice price break. I love it!

I don't think there's some secret tune/boost that Porsche is keeping secret about. They'd maximize anything for additional sales.

It's an S with a Powerkit. All this reading between the lines with creative journalist writing is a wild goose chase.

Add the Widebody, Centerlocks, Alcantara, and a few grills you're there.

Even for a Ford its inexcusable.

As even Ford doesn't do this. When the Boss302 came out it had a 7500rpm redline, and it showed so on the tach. Not the 6800rpm redline the regular 5.0 Coyote equipped GT showed on its tach.

Also, redline on the tach for the GTS and non GTS shows 7600rpm but that could be what redline is not fuel cutoff.

When one gets down to brass tacks redline is 7600 rpms, the redline mark on my tach is 7600 rpms. In a earlier PDK thread I mentioned that the computer allows the revs. to pass the actual redline marker on the tach. The limiter kicks in at 7800 rpms. and that would trigger a tattle tale report on the computer report. Do I have this right? Why is this so murky?

It gets a little murky when the maximum PERMITTED engine speed is actually above red line and in this case by 200 rpm. In my experience the limiter is usually set much closer to the indicated red line. By having the above language in the manual I think they'd have a hard time arguing damage between 7600 and 7800 if you had an issue.

And besides what would we talk about on forums?

Hydraulic lifters have a very small chance of floating until you go over 8200 rpm. The gts also has beefer valve springs according to their press release. I just don't see a reason in adding this additional hardware unless the rpm's are increased. Plus I can't imagine fuel cut being recorded as an over rev. The only instance a over rev can occur in on a down shift. Pdk has more or less made that impossible. With a 7 speed it's still susceptible though.
