As suspected. It's pretty clear that the shift point is 7800 rpm. Which then begs the question of where redline is and when fuel cut would engage?

Ok, I can definitively state that a '14 C2S non powerkit, non GTS limiter is just north of 7,800. Without data logging I would say 7,825 as it's moving pretty fast and 200 rpm increment are not precise tools of measurement. So, "red line" is 7,600, maximum allowable engine speed is 7,800, and fuel cut off limiter is 7,825ish, with max power being produced at 7,400 on S and GTS models. Not sure any of us are better off than 5 pages ago but there you have it for a car that looks suspiciously like mine...

So it appears all the engines that have 7800 rpm redlines and shift points have the redline marker at 7600 rpm. That goes from the C2S to 991GTS to the new GT4. I can't believe it was all a mistake. Could it be that Porsche did that to compensate for the slight shift delay that would be expected for manual shifts (stick and PDK) and it's as simple as that.

I don't believe so. Leaving TC on would slow down net performance. TC controls wheel spin via the braking system. I don't believe the computer algorithms are fast enough to counter loss of motion due to the affects of braking. The technology is't there yet.

I can't download the picture from my phone but it looks like 7600 rpm on the GT4 tach to me. I agree everyone makes mistakes but on so many cars?
