Marc,

What are you havng painted? I hope it is for an add-on part like a duck tail or to cover the lower rear reflectors and not for a repair.

Missed it was the Aetna Blue. I love the color, as now I recall you car.

I'm more interested in what things you're doing! Where did you get this wing from? Have it yet?

Yes.

The shop thinks might have located it in a book as 60/61 356 Aetnablau, color code 312 non-metal flake?
Back in its day (MY1960/1961), the Porsche color code for Aetna Blue was '6003' and the Reutter code was '740'. The modern PTS 'Aetna Blau' (or 'Etna Blue') does not keep its historic code, but has been assigned a new designation: 'Y31'. And there is no 'flake', metal or otherwise, involved with this paint...

Hey there, I'm still having a tough time getting a correct match of this exact shade of color...
...either too dark or gray, etc.
It was suggested at the shop I remove the front bumper for a tag with additional paint info., is that correct?
Really didn't want to do anything like that.
Is there a way to contact for Porsche directly and would they have same info. of record?

New information. On at least Canadian spec 991s, it's on the label in the warranty book:

You already have the correct factory color code for 'Aetna/Etna', which is Y31.

Your problem now is getting your shop to find the exact paint mix formula to duplicate the color correctly. Further dismantling of your car (e.g. bumper) will not provide you any solution/knowledge you don't already have. And yes you can ask PCNA to help you & your paint shop in the US figure out why the majority of their customers are able to duplicate their car's Porsche factory-applied color from a paint code (e.g. Y31)...but your shop can't! Good luck.
