I believe paid members also get bigger avatars, and have sigs unlocked... otherwise you have to fake your sig...

+1 ... although I have to admit that some threads pretty quickly descend into unpleasantness ... c.f the current thread on PDK vs MT ... its sad but apparently inherent human nature, a terrible waste of time and energy.

i pay to support the site and just have unlimited access. It's a nominal fee. I've learned a lot reading through all the threads which helped me make my car purchase decision

this thread is far more entertaining than the typical bs of pdk vs 7mt.
and by the way, im working on a cash flow projection that i can upload with PTS signal green as the base color. do you think its worth it to get a deviated border color?

This is the first place I go to when I pick up my IPad. I've saved a ton of money and even avoided some stupid mistakes as a result of advice given here, and on the two 993 forums. If they tripled the fee I would still gladly pay it, and of course mere users don't know the secret handshake.

I heard only grandmas in Europe pay for memberships to RL.

I recently joined. Simply because I wanted to support Rennlist. I have only been here a short while, but have received an amazing Porsche education. Especially in regards to options, my recent 991 order would have been a disaster if not for Rennlist.

Well, you get a pair of 'rennlist.com' stickers that are so old they won't come off the backing.....other than that, not sure there is much of a benefit.

The forum ads alone provide quite a bit of income for the site owner, that I do know.

I'm not being sarcastic, just curious, when I ask, "How do you know?" Internet Brands, which used to be a public company, was taken private seven or so years ago. How do you get ad-click revenue numbers from a private company - and if you can might not revenue streams be different/rely on a different formula for each advertiser? Maybe it is possible, I just don't know how. Or perhaps, there has been some public disclosure in regard to the KKR acquisition of Internet Brands. I'm sure they are making money as they have been in business since 1998 (Carsdirect.com), but how much seems like something that would be harder to figure out (or maybe it is easy to figure out and I'm just plain dumb).
