Default 997 GTS production #'s ...

Thanks to our friends in the 997 forum, here are the #'s for the 997 GTS... perhaps an indication of the duration/availability of the 991 GTS...

997 Carrera 4 GTS Coupé: 1.321
997 Carrera 4 GTS Cabrio: 957

According to may sales guy, the last GTS manufactured (2012 model year) was around October/November 2011. They went into production as a 2011 model so I'd guess production may have started mid 2010 - or whenever the earliest date in 2010 is that a car could be built in 2010 and be called a 2011.

Thanks Larry, I actually came across those numbers last night. The bigger question is how does this compare to overall 997 production (non Turbo/GT3/GT2 models)?

I would think it will be around for 2 maybe 3 years tops.

I'd be surprised if it was more than a year/18months. I guess that the facelift/992 will enter production in CY2015/16 at the latest.

The earlier GTS came out right at the tail end of the 997 model run. By the time they actually had them at dealers the dealers were already telling people pretty much what to expect from the 991. This GTS on the other hand would seem to be set for at least a full year of production. And these things are always a judgment call, but it sure seems to be a much better value both in terms of performance and style. Its just a much better thought out car. They'll probably sell more of them.
