I've had a C4S in carmine red on order since May, now its been moved back again till next year. Now my color is no longer very exclusive, but still will cost me $5500 even though its only $3250 on a GTS. C4S and GTS have the same body. I was told by the dealer the diff. in price is because my car will have 10 years paint warranty while the GTS paint only has a 5 year warranty. Does this sound right to any of you?
Difference warranty periods on the custom paint job does not justify the price difference. Labour required to reseach material properties and cost involved to deviate from factory choices could explain it.
If you can spec a GTS to your liking cancelling/changing your order is a highly feasible step to consider.
When you go to the Porsche configurator it states 'Metallic' specifically in all of the metallic colour options when you hover over them. Carmine Red does not have the addition 'metallic' so it's a solid colour.

When I ordered carmine red it had already been approved for PTS. The C4S that's shown in this thread is carmine red. He got that car early in the year, before I ordered mine. That picture was the tipping point for my choice of c.r.

A reduced price on already approved PTS colours would be pretty fair. Then paying a small amount back 'per car' to the person who paid the price to go through the PTS process for a new colour if others select 'his' approved colour would be even better.

Three Wheelin'
Sapphire is going to look great. Still the best color imho.
Any chance you could try DBM for me??

My dealer had a December allocation pop up when I was finalizing my build/order, as is mine is a February build with March/April delivery. Since the GTS is a normal model my assumption is in general it will be available before a PTS car...
