Default Tire Pressure winter tires question

Just had dealer install Michelin Alpin PA4s on my 20 inch sport technos. I have a C4. They put 44 psi rear 36 front.

Seems high to me. I was thinking more like 36 rear 32 front. Any advice?

44/36 is the factory setting for the Sport Techno's. Just look at your door sticker. Those pressures will also drop during the cold hours your car is parked outside.

All summer I ran 42/36 with my Sport Techno's. My car now sleeps in heated garage till April.

Got it. Thanks LexVan. I have been trying to find the comfort setting in the menu but can't find the darn thing. Where is that setting? I even read the manual and can't seem to get it to come up.

I also just had a heater installed in my Cincinnati garage. Nice! My car sleeps with heat but when she wakes up in the winter she runs on Michelin PA4s! Just drove first time in 25 degree temps. Very sticky. Noticeable grip.

Winter setting on my C4S with winter tire on S rims is 31 front and 35 rear. There is not a comfort setting in winter tire just one setting.

So the same C4S on sport techno rims would be recommended at 44 and 36? I'm a newbie on this topic. My door sticker with technos says 44/36. Different rims different recommended psi?

Yes for summer. Non comfort setting.

But for winter they are saying otherwise at 34/40. Don't forget the Sport Techno is a 1/2 wider wheel.

That's right I did forget about width difference. Another dumb question: if I were to buy an aftermarket rim in the Spring (like HRE), do you just guess on psi somewhere between 30-44?

If I'm the only person at 180 pounds in the car 95% of time as daily driver non track use, I should set at partial load settings. Right?

Its the tire that matters not the wheel. Porsche gives a very wide range within which you are free to use whatever makes the car feel and handle the way you like. This won't change with a wider wheel, might change with a larger diameter wheel, almost certainly will change with different tires.

The one thing that I'm curious about is the temp difference between your heated garage and outside winter temps. The norm is for whatever you have cold to increase as the tires warm up as you drive. But in your situation I wonder if its so much colder outside that your tire pressure may actually drop?
