I use a soapy wet cotton towel and let it lay on the affected areas to remove bugs, sap and such. You always want to go with the least aggressive way and do as little rubbing and scrubbing as possible. Harsh cleaners, hot water, etc. will remove wax.
Groits Bug Barricade is very good too.
Really? I've seen it, but I figured it was just a glorified wax.

Griots also makes a bug remover that has been moderately effective in my limited use.

The Griots Bug Barricade works really well. You apply it to a clean, waxed/sealant bumper or leading edges or side mirrors. Wipe on, let dry, leaves behind a very slight haze.

I don't like using bug removers because it strips off the wax, as you noted.

With my OptiCoat now, I don't use the Barricade any longer.

Oh, so that's the deal. I knew it was too good to be true. So you put the stuff on before a long road trip, for example, but not before a concours competition.

So, how do you remove it later, to get rid of the light haze? Will just a basic wash take it off (along with the carcasseseses)?

(I think I just blew up spell-check)

I really don't think you'd notice the haze, once it dried. Certainly even less so after a few bug strikes. Not for Concours.

To remove, just normal washing. Bugs wash off much easier.

There was one guy on here who went to the track once and sounded like he was damn near a pro after the first day. I think he said he just swerves around the bugs.

Be careful if you have the keys in your pocket and also the Entry and Drive feature.

I've had a large bug explode into the windshield, right in my line of sight, at 130+ mph on the track. It's surreal. K.E.=(1/2)(m)(v sqd), so 130 mph = 4 times the splat of 65 mph.

Does the increased slope of the 991 windshield make more bugs just bounce off?
