Default I'm going to upgrade to a GT3

Decided to go for the racier vehicle, but I will miss some of the cool toys I have on my C4S that I can't get on the GT3.

Here's my ad in the vehicle marketplace forum:

Congrats, would love to see a comparison when you get it on the track, even better if you have lap times. I'm on the fence as the 991S is fast on the track and amazing in the street.
Currently I can't imagine the loss of the rear seats for the kids are worth the difference given that I routinely show the tail lights to 997 GT3s on the stock pzeros.

Met this amazing 2015 GT3 that came from Walters Porsche on a recent PCA progressive dinner Drool worthy in every regard... and very envious.

That's a great looking C4S. Good luck with the sale and post some pictures of the GT3 when it arrives

Good luck with the sale. I've always admired your C4S; the attention to detail in the interior is great, and the car looks absolutely stunning. Can't wait to see how you spec your GT3.

It's in here

It's definitely a sacrifice vs. a Carrera with respect to some of the cool toys I had on my C4S

Congrats.

But I'm not so sure that the GT3 is necessarily an "upgrade" from a Carrera.

Its an upgrade on the track. On that score, I notice PCCB which is great, unless tracked a lot, in which case its great only if you're well-heeled enough to not mind a set of rotors running $15k. Center locking wheels are similar, in that they seem to be best suited for those who will hardly ever be removing the wheels. Of course every time the wheels move its a risk of chipping PCCB rotors. So combine the two and you've got a car that ups the ante orders of magnitude more than it seems if its actually going to be used on the track a lot. I'd probably order the same if it was me, but then I would never use the car mostly on the track either. If that was the plan I'd go with good ol' cast iron.

I would love to go with a GT3 instead of the C4S/GTS I am going to get. The lower ride height of the GT3 just scares me since I live in a city with very rough streets that are full of potholes. And my car will be used as a dd.

I would agree with you in that situation

That's an interesting point. In terms of hp and "trackability", it is surely an upgrade. And the price sure is an upgrade! But the GT3 is really a different kind of car compared to the Carerra, so I'm sure there are others who would agree with you.

Not necessarily.

Depending on how you option out a 2S, it could be more than a base, stripped down optioned GT3 with an MSRP of 131K.
