In as many years and miles I've had TPMS on cars I've never had one go bad.

I would wait.

Seals on the other hand I've had changed at a regular basis since it's cheap to do.

Yes, your TPMS should continue to work, after transfer to your new set of wheels.
However, changing the Valve Stems is good PM.
For both getting a fresh Seal and getting a clean looking Valve Stem.
Both seem important, considering you invested in a nice new set of wheels.

For those concerned about battery health...
There are some TPMS Tools, that will tell you the state of your batteries (as well as TPMS ID, Air Temp & Pressure).

Some cars need this (or similar tools) to enable the car to acknowledge new and/or rotated TPMS (why I had to buy one).
Luckily, the 991 automatically re-learns, after you do a "reset" in the Tire Menu, and then drive the car.

P.S. If you have any interest in the TPMS Tool, it has free updates for life (not 1Y, as the description says).

Battery lasted 70 months on my 997TT.
