2012 C2S, similar options that are weighty, but add PDK and PDCC. 1/2 tank of gas, disappointing 3476lbs!

I asked the scale operator to make sure I'm out of the car before he gets a weight, but I have always been skeptical that this weight was including me. This thread confirms that my car is heavier than I had hoped.

No complaints on performance.

Poor Nick Murray will wish he had his 991 back when the valets put his BMW M4 down in the garage with the other sedans . . . rather than leave it parked up by the door!

Whenever I think of Nick, the thing that sticks more than anything is the gawd-awful Star Wars garish generator sound effect his BMW made in his last video. People can focus all they want on numbers like weight, acceleration, lap times, etc, but really its the little things like that sound (or in this case, absence thereof) where the 911 earns its keep.

Carmandsl - I bet that weight includes you. A manual is only something like 5lb lighter as it's basically a PDK with one less clutch and some actuators. I have a C4S that weighs about the same as your car, and the AWD system is ~110lb...

Yeah these 3450ish weights sound insane. A full tank of gas is around 115lbs max. Something's not adding up unless every single option is incredibly heavy.

Default More info on wheel weights

So I swapped the track wheel setup for the Carrera S wheels now that track season is done. I was a bit surprised at the weights when I compared them on a cheap digital scale...I knew the Yoko AD-08R's were heavier than the P Zero's or PSS's but I assumed the 20" rims were on par with the OZ Leggera's, appears the Leggera's are substantially lighter than the stock 20's. The rear's are the most impressive as I'm running a 305 tire and it's still 3+ lbs lighter per wheel. If you believe the 1lb = 1hp rotational mass malarkey I just gained ~10hp :-)

Either way, looks like my original post I'm about 10lbs lighter than stock on the wheels, not the other way around.

Rear 20" Carrera S + Michelin PSS (stock sizes)

Rear 19" OZ Leggera HLT + Yokohama AD-08R (305)

Front 20" Carrera S + Michelin PSS (stock sizes)

Front 19" OZ Leggera HLT + Yokohama AD-08R (245)

Had my car corner balanced the other day, 3394lbs wet, no driver, 3/4 tank. Heavily optioned 991.1 C2S with light wheels.
