Thanks for posting. I was a little surprised to see a 0 to 60 time of 4.2 seconds for a C2S with PDK, SC and the X51 power kit.

I sure do enjoy my 7MT, but each time I see PDK launch control... wow!!

I wimp out and always do a 2-5 mph rolling start launch.. don't want to task the clutch too much.

Pretty impressive numbers for both cars. Looks like hybrid sports cars are certainly the wave of the future.

Thanks for posting!

Please notice the difference between " Motor=electric " and " Engine=internal combustion " ,for those that always use motor when talking about an internal combustion engine and making my ears and eyes " bleed " in the process.

Motorcar? Motorcycle? Motor City?
Your ears may be bleeding for a little while longer.

As for the "Drag battle" demonstration, what was the point of comparing two completely different technologies? What's next - A BMW i3 vs. a Toyota Yaris?

We know that electric "motors" are torque monsters, so where's the breaking news from the folks at evo?

From what I gather, most of the HP and Torque gains from the X51 are at the mid to top end of the rev range, which won't help all that much with an initial launch. And let's not forget the X51 makes the car heavier, as well.

Also, I could be wrong (and someone will probably chime in and correct me on this), but I think the SportDesign Package on the 911 test car might actually make the car slower versus one without the SDP.

I think that would actually be rather intriguing.

I'd watch it. Maybe if it was even on YouTube+

Why so? According to Webster

Full Definition of MOTOR
2: any of various power units that develop energy or impart motion

and for my old Brit friends, its a vehicle so powered, as in, "any proper motor has a rotor".

Can a window regulator motor also be called a window regulator engine? Or a windshield wipers motor be called a windshield wipers engine? I sure see motor is interchangeable with engine,so why not...
I guess your parts guy will have a blast when you order a windshield washer engine...

Anyway...don't want to change the topic of this thread...

Wish they would do this again with a C2 (and launch control, of course). This looks like it would be a very tight race with the i8 getting off the line first and the C2 just reeling it in at the end? And it could be the first time I can think of when a "base" Carrera wins a drag race against a significantly MORE expensive sports car!

The hybrid lost this time, but the answer is simple enough. As Scotty would say, "we need more batteries!"

these Evo drag battles are pointless, they recently compared a Macan vs the M4 ... doh, imagine what the outcome of that drag race is, and what is the point?
