German factory workers are paid at a high rate. It would be interesting to know if they could afford a porsche if it was a priority in their life. The vette factory is a contrast in styles. The division of labor between m/f is noticeable in the Porsche factory .

Porsche AG has a program where they have significant subsidies to allow the technicians to lease the cars if they so chose. I appreciate they're not technically "owning them", but it's a great deal none-the-less. It's been very popular and certain dealers around the world can let their employees participate as long as the dealership covers it. My local dealer did this and three long-term guys there just acquired C2's.

Given how many Cars Porsche makes/tests/sells I would make sure every employee has the opportunity to have one in some capacity.
