Default Base 991 2014 performance upgrades?

Never gad a car this fast, but now that I am used to it I was interested in exploring ways to make it faster. What are my options since I did not go with the sport model? I am having trouble finding any threads about this here. Thanks

1) Sell it
2) Buy the "S"

Push harder on the skinny pedal on the right and keep the rpms above 5000.

I think you'll find the 3.4 is a wonderfully capable car and probably won't be beyond your skill as a driver for a long while. Join your local PCA chapter and take it to the track and learn to drive well. That will make your car "faster". And you'll have fun and learn something.

As for physical alterations to the car, your only option is probably an exhaust upgrade that may add a dozen horsepower if you're lucky.

Also - can we please not turn this thread into yet another one full of snarky bastards? Please, just once?

At 100 HP/L Porsche didn't leave much on the table with these cars.
I'd trade it for an M4!

There was a Fifth Gear Episode where they went through a bunch of modifications to try to make a car go faster around a track and the #1 thing to make a car go faster around a track was to take a driving class.

Look up the episode.

I don't think the OP wants to go slower around a track though.

This ^ is right!
Also spending the money for high octane gas, like 95, will give you a legitimate power increase.
I'd rather spend on a drum of gas than mods that dont work.

I am secretly waiting for a Supercharger kit......

Okay, curious: "used to it"? You need more than a thousand horsepower? That's about what you have now. And I'm being conservative. You sure you're "used to it"?

We thought it would be fun one year to celebrate my birthday at a go-kart track. At least 20 showed up, as it happens almost perfectly divided between my PCA friends and others. The karts are all monitored and timed, and guess what? All those in the top half had PCA driving instruction. Most did autocross, some track, and one was the son of a PCA member who had taken him to Driver Skills and autocross, but had to make do with watching since he was under the age limit to drive. Yes even that kid was faster than anyone there who had not gotten any instruction.

It didn't matter if you were a woman, we had a couple of those and they were faster than any of the non-instructed guys. It didn't matter what kart you chose. One of my friends complained we were better at picking the fast karts. Which was true! When you learn how to drive you also learn what's fast- really fast, not BS straight line fast. So we had them cross-ref and list times by kart, and guess what? Same result! Pick any kart, fast or slow, the people who were instructed in driving were faster with it. There was no overlap, anywhere. Period.

In fact, it didn't even matter if you were fast "before". One friend who was there, Doug, was always faster than me when we were young. Bicycles, motorcycles, pickup trucks, cars, did not matter he just always seemed to know how to go faster than me. Then when I joined PCA and began, for the first time in my life, learning how to drive, I tried and tried and tried to get him interested. This was the guy by the way who first got me interested in Porsches, telling me about his Uncle Dale, who wound up giving me my first ride in a 911, a 75 Turbo. Anyway now there was Doug, firmly ensconced in the bottom half, nowhere near my times and even well below some women and the one guys kid.

Its like the scene in Knight and Day, "with instruction, without instruction…"
