If you think that little clock is "giant", wait until you see the speedo in a Mini.

The stopwatch mechanism is rather useless. I use it to time different bail routes on the way home from work sometimes, but there's no time to actually look at it at the track; actual data acquisition (like C7 Corvettes have) would have been far more useful.

The real benefit is the impact Sport+ has to PDK, PSM and the other systems. Sport and Sport+ buttons should be standard, IMHO.

I have come to sort of like the Sport Chrono clock on the dash. Breaks up that mass of vents in the middle . . . and brings back fond memories of cruising in high school in my buddy's '52 Chevy with the clock on the dash.

As always - great information here.

Let me share that I just discovered my LAUNCH CONTROL feature and it, by itself, is worth the price. WOW. I've never felt so thrilled with anticipation.

I love the look of the Sport Chrono timer on the dash of my 997.2 TTS, which does not include a clock function.

Good to finally read a positive comment on this. Lotta guys seem afraid of it. Even after the R&T guy proved its durability doing 61 launches in an afternoon. Congratulations! You are Da Man!

Best 0-60 time in my 991tt was 6.4 sec using the SportChrono timer. It's hard to concentrate on the road and watch ur speedometer at the same time to turn off the chrono at exactly the 60mph mark. Maybe all the track guys can offer some tips. In all seriousness I like having 3 different tuning and suspension modes, it's like having 3 different cars in one.

I am sure you know that is waaaayyyyy off. SC is best for lap timing, not acceleration run IMO.

Manual timing is very subjective.

I use a free PocketDyno app on my iPhone, set into a fixed mount in the car so it accurately senses and triggers the accelerometer in the phone.

The below was run in my '13 991S. Temps in the 80's, 1/4 tank of fuel, no passengers.

Sport Plus on, PSM off and with Launch Control. Start from a level Freeway ON ramp during a light traffic time. Hoped to include a 0-100 time, but had to back off, since I was catching up to a couple of cars, so only recorded a 0-90 time.

This is the pocket dyno app. Do you feel it is more accurate or better than the other apps like dynolicious?

Does anyone really know the interface between sport chrono systems and PDCC? The amount of info. running concurrently must be overwhelming. At any given time the torque vectoring,PDCC,PSAM,PSM,anti lock brakes, engine mounts, sports chrono package, electric steering and throttle control might be employed simultaneously. Imagine the poor car collector fifty years from now trying to sort these systems out to restore the 991.

On a more productive note, I think it is possible to order the sports chrono package and delete the wart on the dash for those that find it a sticking point.
