You have that problem too. The automatic frunk open only works when I am washing the car. Everytime I sweep my sponge over the front, it pops open. When I want it to open - no joy. Pretty irritating!

 

The frunk open thing has a trick. In the video it looks like you wave your hand over the badge. But, it works when you wave your hand over the bumper under the badge. And its really easiest when you hold your hand still in front of the bumper below the badge. Try that and see if it helps. It was really frustrating the first few times I tried to put something in the Frunk. Now, its my handy cargo area. Most people stare at me funny when I'm putting anything in there.
