My local Boston dealership (fine people btw) has two stores with 42 new 911s currently in stock. 40 of the 42 are black, white, grey or silver. Now black, white, grey and silver are very nice colors, but 40 of 42? Really? A tall order indeed, my friend.

I like my black 911.

It gets lost easily in a sea of all the other $100k+ cars in Los Angeles.

As for the Redwood City car....

I don't see any issues with the price whatsoever. Right up the street from Stanford and across the bay from Silicon. Plenty of guys with com dough that want a 911 with no less than 5 different colors on the door alone.

PS This is an example where Option EER simply doesn't work! In fact, I can make the case that in the 991, with its wider interior trim from the more elegant thinner ones found on the 997's, EER (Interior Package Painted) matching your exterior color is usually too much of a good thing!

I agree Eduardo.

In some way it reminds me of my door panel in my old Saleen Mustang.

Redwood City is on the Peninsula, just north of Stanford/Palo Alto and the same side of the Bay as " Silicon Valley ", which does not exist as an actual place, but the geographic tech area encompassing the area from south of SFO down to San Jose and around the south end of the Bay up to Fremont.
" Across the bay " would be Oakland and environs.

Actually most local wealthy tech guys are nerdy engineers and the few who are into cars will buy " better resale " black , white and some silver / grey 911s. They calculate the value of money and are highly educated about anything they take an interest in , so they usually know more about these hobby cars than most of sales guys...there is a reason this car sits ...a buyer would get a $100k haircut the moment it drives off the lot.
IMO, it would sell easier to a car -clueless " tabloid celeb " down your way in LaLaLand !

The mileage on the Redwood City car is listed as 7,853. How is that a new car?

...and my eyes see mustard. Old mustard, at that. Car is gonna sit

Then it is probably a car that has been put into service as a demo ( dealers have to do this as a business expense write off with fright pig cars that a buyer flakes on so as not to lose their shirt ) or was an ex company car that dealer bought cheap .

A potential buyer should then approach it as a used car from a pricing standpoint...where the interior and other cosmetic options are worth zero dollars .

Also, the warranty period has started in either case.

I missed that.... Carlsen have some ***** pricing it at 182k for a demo car!

but then again locally Carlsen have a certain "reputation" ... so this is entirely
in line with that!

Ive been debating the EER option on my C2S Cabriolet spec, I'm a little concerned that Sapphire Blue metallic trim with two tone black/platinum leather might not work ... decisions decisions... but I loved this option in my 7.1 GT3 (cobalt blue) and wish I'd had the option on my MB GT3...

Eduardo's eye is right on target. Painted trim in the 991 is better in concept than in execution. I would have liked to put it into my sapphire blue over black interior, but it's just too much (I've seen several painted interiors in person). I went with CF instead. Expensive, but the only viable alternative for me unless you make the trim disappear completely by going leather.

Nope. I'm only a bit ahead of you. My config freezes next week (thankfully). Delivery in September.
