Come on Larry, non-metallic all the way! PS The black wheels on Riviera/Mexico look great. On Maritime/Voodoo, it's obviousy darker, you'll want to stick with silver wheels, or Techno's painted silver/black. I ran black wheels on my Maritime for a while - looked ****.

It MSRP'd at around $92k. If there is a more appealing C2 in the US I will eat my hat.

I bought it with 3.5k miles in 2009 from an octogenarian tired of driving a stick.
I would have to agree. That's a stunning 997. Big fan.

A C2S with sport chrono/PDK would have kicked the M4's ****. And yes I know it would have cost more.

It wouldn't have required a C2S to beat the M4. What would have been required, is similarly equipped vehicles. As you said, they used an MT C2 with no Sport Chrono.

A Sport Chrono equipped C2 with PDK would have beaten the M4. Removing the ridiculous rear seat comparison would have sealed the deal.

This is possibly the highest priced C2S @ $182k+. I've never seen an interior like it. I am assuming it is amber orange although the description says yachting blue.

Yeah, I found that odd too about the missing custom leather but it's clearly there. Don't care for that front fascia either.

spec'ing this on the configurator comes in at 163,775 which makes the custom interior and orange stripe on the wheels silly-money IMO...

that's going to be a tough car to sell ... although looks like sonnen sold their white/red cabriolet, but that was discounted some $17k from sticker last I looked!

Yes, they 'borrowed' the 'Amber Orange' from the 981 for the inlays and superimposed it on a 'Yachting Blue' full leather 991 interior. 'Porsche Exclusive' lets you do switching from the 981, although I have not seen it yet going the other way (from 991 to 981). In principle, it should be no problem. The 'Amber Orange' deviating stitching is also borrowed from the 981 model offerings, but we have seen that before (e.g. Sonnen Porsche's 'Mexico Blue' 4S Coupe).

The wheel treatment is of particular interest to me. It is not listed in the options shown on its website. The reason is, I believe, because they ran out of room! There are a lot more options in this car that are listed in the limited space allowed for options. No surprise then that this is a $182K MSRP vehicle! I wonder if a customer backed out? No way Carlsen would have ordered this on spec for its inventory. That would normally be what is called in the business a 'Seppuku'...or ritual suicide for those of you that didn't see the movie 'Ronin'!

Those wheels look like a CXX special 'Porsche Exclusive' option never seen on the configurator but which is often allowed by PAG. It lets you order a wheel painted in one color (e.g. 'Black' or 'Dark Blue Metallic') and then have a deviating color on its rim (e.g. 'Orange')! As you know, the rim normally would be brushed alloy on the regular painted wheel option. In this special & expensive option, the entire wheel is painted - not just the outer front 'half' as in the less expensive 'Painted Wheel' option for $1635. By the way, the centers of these wheels look to me painted 'Metallic Blue', so this is a very unusual combination.

Eduardo

Jon, as an aside, this is the dealer that can answer your previous question as to what is the cost to have a deviating inlays on your seats!

I would phrase what I do in a different way. My committed purpose at Rennlist is to prevent any one of you from having to do a Seppuku either because:

a) You failed to learn about PTS & the fabulous options available to you via 'Porsche Exclusive' thus ending up with a vehicle that visually & aesthetically is so boring you that it represents a painful, slow death! So you rather end it all quickly!

OR

b) You ordered the wrong PTS color or interior options! And now, to save face & keep to the ancient honor code, you have no viable alternative but to do a Japanese ritual suicide and make up for that horrible mistake!

So yes, it's a Seppuku prevention service. That is a tall order...but that is my mission!

Saludos,
Edaurdo
Edurado
Eduardo
or whatever...
