Since when has the 911 ever been a pure sports car? For as long as I can recall, going at least as far back as the late 1960's, the debate has been: Sport/GT? Or GT/Sport? Its always been a bit too refined for a sports car, a bit too sporty for a GT.

To me this has always been a big part of the 911 magic, the way they have made one car so beautifully comfortable in any number of roles. This has never been more true than it is today.

True story, I am here at work where not three minutes ago I was talking to a friend and showed him the photo's of the Mahogany GT3 on page 1 above. His jaw dropped! "Wow! That is sexy!" Yeah, it is. He loved it with two-tone Expresso/Cognac with Mahogany interior package too.

Its kind of mind-boggling when you think about it, that the same GT3 that can tear up the track can also be optioned to be equally at home on a night at the opera. But hey, its a 911: boggling minds, defying conventions, for 50 years!

I'm considering Mahogany Metallic and thought I would revive this thread to solicit opinions on interior colors. I know Espresso/Cognac has a lot of fans on the forum, but I can't get excited about it for some reason. That leaves solid Espresso (full UPS) or perhaps Black. Any thoughts on those two options? Any others you would recommend?

Solid Espresso will look great with Mahogany Metallic. The colors are dark enough they make the Cognac stand out a little too much, maybe why you're not so keen on Espresso/Cognac. That combo seems to look better with the lighter exteriors, especially cabs. All Espresso with Mahogany would make for a very rich, sophisticated look.

I have Espresso/Cognac and love it, but I get how pairing it with Mahogany may appear look like it's "trying too hard". I think Espresso would work well, but I don't think black would. This may seem way out there, but I've always like Black/Garnett matched with Mahogany. Sophisticated on the outside, sporty on the inside. Before you puke, take a look at it on the configurator!
