This guy was likely angry about all the money he lost and needed to take it out on some rich guy. It has been my experience that guys don't stay mad at themselves very long. They externalize their anger?..yell at an employee, kick the dog, etc. As distraught as I was, I knew he was way worse off than I. This is not to say that I wasn't fantasizing about using aluminum baseball bats and ice picks on this clown, but I knew he went into a casino, a place where the system was rigged against him, and lost his ***. Not to wax political, but as more and more Americans are pushed down and out of the middle class by a system that they perceive as rigged against them, we will see more acting out towards the well off. There is a theater in DC that is in a rough area. I always take my Audi wagon and not my Porsche because one vandalized P car is enough for me....Chris
That's really sad and unfortunate ... I hope you can get it fixed or replaced by insurance ... *and* its a 993TT which is even sader as that is a classic ...

Could not agree more with what you said.

I do miss English summers. Many a lazy weekend spent in a blissful Pimms fuelled haze outside the Pony on Parsons Green.
My experience is the same, though I only have the UK as a comparison to the US.
I have a friend back in the UK who ended up getting rid of her dream car last year due to the negative reactions she experienced.

cheers

Gun control is hitting your target.

The sticker on the back window of my wife's car says so.

You'd be hard pressed to experience Tall Poppy Syndrome in Canada. True, we are a Commonwealth country but our citizenry hails from around the world, including from countries where the belief is that hard work leads to success in life.

My parents emigrated from the UK in part to escape some of the attitudes that pervade segments of society there. Never looked back.

In Australia, New Zealand and many other parts of the world where Tall Poppy Syndrome is so widespread that they have a name for it, when a regular working Joe walks past a mansion, he thinks to himself, "who did this axxhole cheat for his money and the next time I see his car, I am going to key it."

That, my friends, is why America is viewed by so many as the land of opportunity and why the best and brightest in the world want to live here.
I agree with this. However, we are quickly catching up with the rest of the world; inspired and energized by the left who want the government to make it all "equal".

My post had to do with people's perceptions. This thread has become political and needs to be moved to its appropriate place.

People dont mess around in Florida in terms of road rage, they pack heat and use it when they get pissed off.
Do you know if bicyclist can get a permit to carry a gun in Florida? One of most dangerous places to ride a bike (although not as bad as Bellingham,Wa).

It is legal to carry a "concealed" gun while riding a bike or bicycle (except in some public places like university, airport etc). But then, having the weapon hidden on the bicycle is quite dangerous if someone steal your bicycle or knock you over just to steal it. Any police officers here want to chime in?

I don't know how you make your income, but for myself and I would say the vast majority of the "1%", the 99% are in fact the customers. It would be exceedingly difficult to become wealthy without the backing of the 99%, which is why we need economic and social policies that strengthen the middle class.

Agreed - I was pointing to the culture of negativity we have.

If you have a conceal carry permit, you should be fine to carry on your person on a bike or in a car, etc. Check your state gun laws.
