As shown on the colour code on the older 911 shown, 114-9-1 is Signal Yellow and this does have a slight orange tinge. This specific code indicates the paint was intended to be dried in a paint booth, not air dried as that code from memory is 114-9-2 (I had a '72 this colour, then an '82 and '86 done paint to sample this colour. The paint that was supposed to be used when air drying actually had a very slight green tinge.

Currently its at McKenna Porsche and I have never seen another 911 in this color. Very sporty. I am not normally a fan of yellows, but this one is an exception
What a brilliant looking car. That's a color I would never own but always admire.

I asked my wife; she says it's definitely yellow.

The labratapirdor agrees.

I have exchanged some interesting emails with them today. Eventually, it went up all the way to Bob Hogan, the General Manager. It was so puzzling that I even sent an email to Daniel McKenna, the dealer principal, to see if he could shed some light on the subject! The story is a bit confusing and I am trying to get to the bottom of it before I report it here in full. In general I think McKenna is a pretty good dealership and I want to be fair to them. So I hope they provide me more information tomorrow and I'll report back to this thread on what they are saying about this PTS color!

Saludos,
Eduardo

Looks like Hyundaid yellow more than the Classic 911.

That is a great color (whatever it is). Too bold for me to own, but definitely one I can and do admire.

Looks like Signal Yellow to me. Great color IMO.

Here's Fayence Yellow on the Carrera GT.

A true color spectrum expert! Have seen one of those since Little Theodore in Miss Moneypenny's kindergarten class back in 1955! I didn't care much for Teddy, but Miss Moneypenny was real 'hot', as in 'orange' almost going into 'red'!
