Let me also agree with the OP that it's more important to select your installer then selecting the material. Chances are you'll go with the product thy're most comfortable recommending & guaranteeing - it's how I came to SunTec Protection Film, my guys swear by the stuff. So Xpel, 3M or SunTec I'm thinking it's all good.

Film isn't for me, but I totally get why people do it.

Those of you against coatings are missing out though. Modesta BC-05 is a game changer.

Willyspub, how is it a game changer? Is it hard enough to prevent rock chips, or is it more of a long lasting wax?

He's right, total game changer. No more washing, dirt just rinses right off. Why, it even makes your car faster!
And no, I am NOT making this stuff up!

So can you use Modesta on top of film?

Even better, can you use carnauba over Modesta? According to the website Modesta is constructed of 3D molecules. How will they interact with the old-fashioned carnauba waxes 2D molecules?

But this can wait. Right now I'm off to Stuttgart with a boatload of Modesta. With its negative drag coefficient I figure two, three coats, all they'll do is drop the clutch and the 919 will have so much negative drag the air will suck it right to the finish line!

Update: they may not need my help after all- http://www.motorsport.com/lemans/new...he-919-hybrid/
